How To Live Without Basic Inventions

Sick and tired of useful inventions? Think you can get by in life without them? Follow along with one man who is attempting to avoid basic invention. Take a peek into his diary…
-
Step 1:
-
Electricity
-
I've turned off the power. No microwave (invented in 1945) , TV (invented in 1923), lights (first demonstrated in 1879) or telephones (invented in 1876).
I've disconnected my phone. I spent the day writing letters to friends and family. Only to realize that I couldn't apply a stamp. Glue is an invention; it's been around since 4000 B.C.
-
Step 2:
-
Shelter
-
Still... I'm surrounded by inventions: furniture (in existence since 3000 B.C.), paint (the first use of paint can be dated back to 15000 B.C.) , even the ceiling! I'm abandoning my home. I didn't lock the door because keys are an invention (the modern lock and key was developed in 1776). I've since found a more natural uninvented habitat: A cave.
It's been two days and my body has developed a disgusting odor. I'd forgotten that soap is an invention (first used in ancient Babylonia).
-
Step 3:
-
Food
-
My plan was to eat right from the can. Then I realized the tin can was invented 1810. On a side note, I've just realized what an amazing invention sliced bread is (invented in 1928).
Without food, I'm forced to hunt and gather. But without guns, a bow and arrow, or even a steel knife... all I can do is throw rocks at stuff.
-
Step :
-
I'm so hungry, Diary. I saw a man cook and eat his shoe in a movie once. I considered this option before realizing my shoe is yet another invention. As are my clothes (the sewing machine was invented in 1846).
-
Step 4:
-
Naked
-
The nights are cold. Fire is natural, but a campfire is an invention (Man was able to control fire as early as 500,000 B.C.). I'm freezing my butt off, diary.
-
Step 6:
-
???
-
Diary, I've invented the 21st century invention-free life. This is how it was meant to be. I don't need anything or anyone. Except paramedics and some 21st century medical attention (The ambulance was invented in the 11th century).
