How To Throw A Card Through A Window

How To Throw A Card Through A WindowSee how to throw A card through a window. The world's most powerful magician, David Zanthor, shows us this incredible trick.

You will need

  • A deck of cards
  • Two duplicate cards,
  • Some magicians wax, bees wax, or hair wax.
  • A nice window
  • Some passers by
  • A magician's assistant
  • And a whispering charm

Step 1:

The Trick

Stop someone in the street. Shuffle the cards thoroughly. Explain that you're going to riffle through the cards and ask them to tell you when to stop. Do this and allow them to take a card.

Ask them to show it to their friend. It's the ace of spades, David's favourite card. Allow them to put the card back in the deck anywhere they like, now shuffle the cards again and look through them for their card, its vanished from the deck, now throw the cards at a nearby window. Bamo! their card has magically appeared on the other side of the glass.

Step 2:

How it's done

This is an easy trick that just needs a little preparation, but when performed correctly, it will dazzle and amaze even the most stone faced of audience members. For this trick to work you need to know the card they will pick ahead of time and force them that card. David's gone for the ace of spades. We're using a blue card, so you can follow it through the trick

As you can see the first card cut does not effect the ace of spades which remains safely at the bottom.

When you do the second shuffle, move the ace to the top of the deck by pulling packets of cards off the top of the deck with your thumb until one card is left, the ace, this goes on the top.
Now you force them the card with a riffle force - easy peasy. When you riffle the cards, grip the top card with your middle fingers, and pull all the other cards out of the deck in one swift motion. This puts the ace just where you want it, and forces them to take it.

Once they have looked at the card and replaced it in the deck, look through the cards and claim that their card is missing. Now unexpectedly throw the cards at the window. Behind the glass is the ace of spade, by magic? No! It's because the magician's assistant - Spectacular Jon - put it there at the beginning of the trick. See there it is, right from the start. The trick is to make sure that your audience simply don't look at it before you throw the cards at it. You can achieve this by being devastatingly charismatic.

erm the part where they say the card was always on the window, if you go to the part during the trick the cards not there... They must have filmed it twice and the assistant sticks it on just before he throws them or he really is magic

Below me is right. It's called a "Backslip" officially. A riffle force is completely different. It's a fairly simple trick, and this can be performed without a force. Yes, without a force. It's not difficult. All you needs is for you Confederate/Plant to have a deck as well, and peek the card that the duplicate picked, and then places the card on the window. Also, how about when you do the trick, have the spectator's backs at the window. They're not going to turn full around until you throw the card at the window. Simple trick, yet stunning results. Just get the terms right damn it. Homki

Steve224, That's why you need an assistant. if you posted the card through the window first, they'd see it. the assistant will post the card up whilst the magician distracts the passersby with the trick.:)

This video was staged from the start. Check :58 and 3:18 of this video. You'll see the card missing in the start and in the explanation of the trick, it some how appears. WOW!!! Think more people were tricked on the trick being explaind than the trick itself.

I can't do this trick. My friends keep seeing the other card on the window before I even throw it. And the assistant doesn't hlp as they all see him put it there.

I'm with the other guy, New tricks don't develop that quickly. BUT. Zanthor is only revealing small card tricks, all the major card tricks remain a secret. Except the best card trick in the world. Im happy, yet sad he revealed that one. I've started playing with cards 5 days ago and i can already do most of these zanthor tricks quite smoothly. This proves my statement that he only reveals the easy tricks. Not the advanced.

I don't agree with people saying that revealing old tricks helps to inspire new ones. I know that technically there's an infinite number of tricks possible to create, but the truly great tricks take a long time to come up with. Magic was much more highly regarded in the early 1900's than it is today due to video tutorials and books.

Morons, while performing the trick after they've looked at the card, you continue to distract them while your assistant places the card swiftly on the window. It takes practice but it works very well
